UE Digital Clothing Design

This course covers three main modules: the fundamentals of materials, the creation of special materials, and the application of external material assets. The course emphasizes the integration of practical operations and theory, teaching PBR and UV theory, as well as the use of the material editor, among other topics. By taking this course, students will progress from basic to advanced levels, enabling them to create stylish, customized MetaHuman fashion hands-on.

Course Introduction

  • CHAPTER 1: Introduction to Unreal Engine

    Begin your journey with Unreal Engine. This chapter covers the installation of the engine, understanding the interface and configuration, basic operations, and importing resources for scene character actions.

  • CHAPTER 2: Basics of Materials

    Explore material design in Unreal Engine. This chapter combines material examples to introduce the fundamental concepts and operations related to material functionality.

  • CHAPTER 3: Art Style and Design Process

    This chapter introduces art style setting, awareness of worldviews, building a concept library, and utilizing AI speed up for Vision Transformers.

  • CHAPTER 4 Introduction to Game Character Design

    This chapter introduces the basic principles of game character design and the theoretical concepts related to character design.

  • CHAPTER 5 Fundamentals of MetaHuman Clothing Materials

    This chapter covers an overview of MetaHuman clothing and materials, basic concepts of PBR and UV, the use of the material editor in Unreal Engine, creation of material spheres, and the development of material nodes.

  • CHAPTER 6 Special Materials in Fashion Design

    Introduces special materials in fashion design, such as flowing light and luminescence.

  • CHAPTER 7 Basics of the Niagara System

    This chapter teaches the theoretical concepts of the Niagara system and create of special effects.

  • CHAPTER 8 Application of External Material Assets

    This chapter students will create MetaHuman clothing materials and ultimately showcase the overall clothing effects through a rendered video in Unreal Engine.
